M O V E M E N T
An International Nonprofit Organization called, "RED MY LIPS" raises awareness about one of the most prevalent issues which is Sexual Violence. They focus on battling Victim-Blaming and Rape - Myths, by standing in solidarity against prejudice opinions of unsubstantial reasons as to why people experience Sexual Violence. Rape and other forms of Sexual Assualt is frequently misunderstood as being provoked by uncontrollable sexual attraction or desire.
Sexual Assualt should never be defined as a consequence, but as an act of violence, entitlement and domination. A victim should never be made to feel like it is their fault! The reality is that South Africa deals with cases of Gender-Based Violence every single day. One is Five women living in South Africa have experienced sexual violence at least once in their lifetime. Today we say that enough is enough.
Both Miss Grand South Africa and Miss Grand International advocate for "STOPPING WAR AND VIOLENCE". I believe both Sexual Assault and Gender-Based Violence in South Africa fall under this category, and supporting this movement means standing up as the Queen you are.
APRIL MONTH is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, in support we are rocking our Red Lipstick 💋 to demonstrate solidarity and support for survivors and to make it known that innocent victims didn't chose this outcome.
Wear your red lipstick today and may we stand up as one ☝🏼
