Windy Yolanda
Amran, a supermodel from Indonesia and Top 15 Semifinalist in Supermodel
International 2016 made another breakthrough in her life, animal rights. This
agenda comes no easy for Windy, having a career for modeling and pageants; she
is dedicated to make animals free of suffering and abuse.
Thus, she recently
joined an Indonesian-based animal welfare organization, named Garda Satwa. The non-government organization helps in animal
welfare, promotes animal adoption and teaches people that animals have rights
too.

We asked Windy
as to the reason why she is passionate for the animals and she said: “Because humans
can defend themselves as we know our rights and stand our ground but for
animals, they have no one to defend them but themselves and even at many times
they are not capable to do so. I believe that every creature with a will to
live has a right to live free from pain and suffering. To me, animal rights
isn't just a philosophy, it is social movements that challenges ideas and
society's traditional views that all animals exist solely for the use of human.
I stand for this view because if it isn't us humans, who else?”
