Christian Ekwerike will represent Nigeria in the first competition for male category in Pageant of the World.
Born 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria, Christian Ekwerike, twin and youngest of the family has crossed many boundaries and lands to pursue his seemingly endless array of talents. A simple kid from Nigeria, yet bound for international success by the Power, Faith and Glory of God, as he reminds himself everyday "God over Everything."
Coming from a community where playing football in the street with a makeshift ball was a way of life, it was a place where every child's dream was to take their street skills to the professional football fields to play amongst the best. "Whenever we managed to get hold of a ball, that was a bonus! I mean it was amazing!" Raised by a hard working family, parents from Abia, Nigeria, Christian followed his elder brother Victors lead when it came to playing football. However, his impeccable skills and determined nature set him on a different path, leading to the opportunity to play for Coca FC. His game play consisted of spectacular displays of fine footwork and precision in his position as striker. In 2000, it was an unforgettable moment when Ekwerike rounded off and scored a goal against experienced Nigerian goal keeper William Okpara in FA Cup match. One match to the next, blessing after blessing, Christian’s love for football saw him play for Asante Koto in Ghana and later land a football deal in Turkey. A proud man of the Igbo tribe, and in pursuit of a better life, Christian left Nigeria, travelled, and now finds himself in Australia. His passion for football remains a guiding force while his modelling career continues to flourish.
Christian's unforgiving taste in fashion and willingness to get involved in innovative and creative showcases has built his portfolio to include catwalks, acting, photo modelling including sports and fashion shoots. A born natural in front of the camera, with a flawless beaming presence when on stage, Christian's unique, individual attractiveness stand second to his ability to make dreams come true. Currently self-managed and running his own businesses in sport and entertainment, he effortlessly enables others to rise to their full potential; qualities of a true leader.
